During my first campaign, my platform revolved around academic achievement, teacher retention, and fiscal responsibility. We have made great strides in these areas and I will continue to be laser-focused on these fundamentals. During my re-election campaign, I would like to add to my platform in the areas of school security and mental health. There is no doubt that we have all been affected by recent activities in our neighboring schools in regards to security but the silence of mental illness affects every student, parent and teacher within our school district. Initial steps towards these initiatives are our recent bond initiative where we will spend up to $9M on school security and we have added counselors to our staff to support our growing need to address mental health.
